Feng Shui Restaurant - San Francisco

On a random Saturday in March, I walked into this casual Chinese restaurant for lunch when three nearby restaurants were unexpectedly closed. Lunch specials were modestly priced – almost all are $6.00 or less and include soup, rice, and entrée. Lunch combinations are $7.15 and include soup, spring roll, and fried rice. My expectations matched the prices – Lombard Street is not known for fine dining – and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and taste of the food.

Spicy prawns were quite spicy, did not taste of iodine and were served with fresh basil and red bell pepper. Spicy bean curd and mixed vegetables arrived with sautéed tofu, bell pepper, broccoli, and mushrooms. Portions are enormous – half a plate was more than enough for lunch and the leftovers went home. “Authentic Chinese” it might not be but finding good food served at a fair price in San Francisco is alone worth one star. You cannot beat Feng Shui for Chinese food at this price.
